Protein Bar Gets Smaller, Gains 1,200 Stores; Shrinkflation Experts Call It The One Time It Worked
JAMBAR's organic Minis pushed the brand into 1,200 more doors. Full-size bars are said to be proud, and a little hurt.

SAN DIEGO—Protein bar brand JAMBAR has added more than 1,200 retail doors since launching its Certified Organic Minis in spring, including Giant and Martin's stores in Pennsylvania, Earth Fare and Walmart.com, according to the company.
Category analysts said it was rare to see a snack get smaller on purpose and say so on the front of the package. "Normally the bar shrinks and nobody mentions it," said one fictional buyer. "This bar shrank and told everyone. We gave it a shelf."

The full-size bars said they were happy for the Minis and asked, quietly, whether there was room for them on the endcap too.
The Daily SKU is satire. Headlines and stories riff on real e-commerce, CPG and retail news, but the people, quotes, studies, surveys and most numbers are invented. No real person’s words are made up here. Each article ends with a factual “The Real Story” box and a “Riffing on” line linking the genuine reporting. Not investment advice. Not any kind of advice.
